The equipment of our testing lab has been enlarged with the new acquisition of a hot-plate press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our laboratories are located at the Polytechnic School of the University of Girona and the Girona\u2019s Technology Park. The Composite Testing Lab is a highly capable composites testing laboratory based in Girona\u2019s Technology Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new acquisition of the hot-plate press will allow to manufacture flat panels, basically to obtain laboratory coupons for the characterization of composite materials, both thermosetting and thermoplastic matrix. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Specifically, the main features of the hot-plate press FONTIJNE LAB ECON 600 are: 400\u00baC maximum temperature; 400 x 400 mm plates; maximum closing load 600 kN; cooling from 400\u00b0C to 300\u00b0C by air, from 300\u00b0C to ambient by water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, our laboratories are able to conduct standard and state-of-the-art material characterisation tests, inspection of microstructure and surface and internal defects, and development of numerical models for the analysis of advanced materials through simulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
