The research aims to develop a significantly more efficient numerical method. The candidate will thoroughly derive, implement, and validate novel models for crack initiation and propagation based on fracture mechanics. The implementation of these models will require programming in Fortran within the team&#8217;s existing adaptive modelling framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required education level:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Engineering: Master Degree or equivalent<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills\/qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants will have already received the appropriate qualification (Master Degree) allowing the applicant to commence a PhD, before employment.
