Dr. Liva Pupure and Dr. Andrejs Pupurs from the Riga Technical University are conducting a research stay in AMADE – UdG from October 17 to November 6, 2022.

Both visiting researchers have given two oral presentations on October 28, 2022, to explain the research activities conducted within their respective departments and in their postdoctoral projects on composites.

Specifically, Dr. Liva Pupure has given a talk entitled “Research activities at the Institute of Structural Engineering, Riga Technical University”, where she has presented results from her postdoctoral project “Implementation of Multiscale Nonlinear viscoelastic and viscoplastic material model in Finite Element Method”.

Dr. Andrejs Pupurs has given a talk entitled “Research activities at Laboratory of Experimental Mechanics of Materials (LEMM), Riga Technical University”, where he has presented results from his postdoctoral project “Thermo-mechanical behavior analysis of glass/carbon hybrid thin-ply laminates for multifunctional applications”.

Both projects have been supported by the European Regional Development Fund within the Activity 1.1.1.2 “Post-doctoral Research Aid” of the Specific Aid Objective 1.1.1 “To increase the research and innovative capacity of scientific institutions of Latvia and the ability to attract external financing, investing in human resources and infrastructure” of the Operational Programme “Growth and Employment” Projects No.1.1.1.2/VIAA/4/20/646 and No.1.1.1.2/VIAA/3/19/408.
