18 Nov Doctoral thesis on predicting delamination in 3D composites
On November 7, 2024, Iñaki Leciñana defended his PhD thesis titled “Novel methodology for predicting delamination in 3D composite structures under multiples loading conditions and large process zones” at the University of Girona. His research was supervised by supervised by Dr. Jordi Renat Canalias, Dr. Albert Turon Travesa (AMADE-Universitat de Girona) and Dr. Javier Zurbitu González (Ikerlan)
His research focuses on providing a tool for delamination prediction in composite materials with large process zones under different static and fatigue loading conditions in 3D structures. The methodology is intended to be a practical guide for industry, providing a flexible tool capable of predicting the delamination behaviour of new polymeric materials in an agile manner.
Iñaki Leciñana’s PhD research contributes to the fields of characterization and modeling of composite materials that develop large process zones during delamination.
This research was funded by Ikerlan research center.
