Acquisition of a hot-plate press in the AMADE testing lab

The equipment of our testing lab has been enlarged with the new acquisition of a hot-plate press.

Our laboratories are located at the Polytechnic School of the University of Girona and the Girona’s Technology Park. The Composite Testing Lab is a highly capable composites testing laboratory based in Girona’s Technology Park.

The new acquisition of the hot-plate press will allow to manufacture flat panels, basically to obtain laboratory coupons for the characterization of composite materials, both thermosetting and thermoplastic matrix.

Specifically, the main features of the hot-plate press FONTIJNE LAB ECON 600 are: 400ºC maximum temperature; 400 x 400 mm plates; maximum closing load 600 kN; cooling from 400°C to 300°C by air, from 300°C to ambient by water.

In addition, our laboratories are able to conduct standard and state-of-the-art material characterisation tests, inspection of microstructure and surface and internal defects, and development of numerical models for the analysis of advanced materials through simulations.

AMADE Management agrees to establish and maintain a Quality Management System that complies with ISO17025 and ISO9001 standards and Nadcap requirements for non-metallic testing laboratories.More information about the testing lab: http://amade.udg.edu/index.php/testing-lab/
