Dr. Sergio Medina Escobar has been honoured with the ZwickRoell Science Award for his Ph.D. thesis conducted at AMADE under the supervision of Dr. Norbert Blanco and Dr. Emili González, in collaboration with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Fraunhofer-Institut für Kurzzeitdynamik, Ernst-Mach-Institut, EMI.

Specifically, Dr. Medina received the 2nd ‘ZwickRoell Science Award’ for his paper, “Guided double cantilever beam test method for intermediate and high loading rates in composites” (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijsolstr.2023.112118), presented during the ZwickRoell Academia Day 2023 at the University of Cambridge Møller Institute on September 26, 2023, hosted by ZwickRoell UK & Ireland.

The ZwickRoell Science Award recognizes authors of scientific papers and works that report on the most innovative uses of materials testing machines.
