07 Nov PhD Position – Efficient numerical modelling of composite failure for large structures.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
10/01/2026 11:59 pm – Europe/Brussels
OFFER DESCRIPTION
This PhD project, a collaboration between AMADE and Btechc, addresses the high computational cost of modelling failure in large-scale composite structures like aircraft and vehicles. The research aims to develop a significantly more efficient numerical method. The candidate will thoroughly derive, implement, and validate novel models for crack initiation and propagation based on fracture mechanics. The implementation of these models will require programming in Fortran within the team’s existing adaptive modelling framework.
