10 Dic Dr. Nikhil Bharat Awarded Best Doctoral Thesis 2024–2025 by NIT Warangal
Dr. Nikhil Bharat, currently a postdoctoral researcher at the AMADE research group, has been awarded the Best Doctoral Thesis Award (2024–2025) across all engineering and science departments for his PhD work at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Warangal.
His thesis focused on the fabrication, characterization, and machinability of AA7178 aluminium alloy reinforced with TiO₂ and SiC nanoparticles, using optimized wear parameters through advanced computational techniques. In simpler terms, his research aims to develop stronger, more wear-resistant aluminium-based composites and apply intelligent optimization tools to enhance their machining performance.
Currently, Dr. Bharat is conducting postdoctoral research at AMADE, focusing on the study of permeability of composites at cryogenic temperatures and the stress relaxation of composite under the supervision of Josep Costa.
